PPG accomplished the development of research center for paints and coatings business with an investment of USD7.8 million

United States: PPG Industries, a global US based chemical manufacturer, has accomplished the expansion of its coatings innovation center in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, US with an investment of USD7.8 million. The expansion of the innovation center involves addition of laboratory, testing space, and equipment up gradation which would improve the technical proficiencies of the company for the development of paints and coatings. Additionally, expansion comprises renovations of the coatings application center, area conversion for laboratories, and improvements of automotive refinish training center. Revamped coatings application center would have two robotic spray compartments with environmental controls for variable temperature, humidity and airflow, in order to simulate the environments where customers use the company's products. The additional laboratory space would be utilized for manufacturing of adhesives, sealants and pre-treatment solutions to house increased staffing and technically upgraded equipment.

TechSci Research depicts that the expansion of innovation center would enlarge the PPG’s paint and coatings portfolio and would enable the company to address the growing customer demands for adhesives and sealants through its improved technologies.
