A Schulman Adds Two Production Lines for Manufacturing Plastic Compounds

Germany: A Schulman, a US based global manufacturer of plastic compounds, has increased its plastic compounds production capacity with the addition of two new production lines at the existing manufacturing facility in Germany. The company controls 58 production plants across the globe and supplies plastic compounds, resins and composites for application in various end user industries. With the addition of the new production lines, the company aims to expand its product portfolio in the specialized engineering plastics business segment including Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS). PPS compounds manufactured by the company would be marketed under the brand name ‘Ecotran’ and would enable the company to provide customized specialty compounds according to the requirements of different customers. This addition of plastic compounds production line is the largest expansion activity undertaken by the company since the expansion of PET production facility in Belgium in 2015.

TechSci Research depicts that the expansion of plastic compounds production capacity would enable A Schulman to improve its presence in the global engineering plastics business and allow the company to cater to the growing demand from automotive as well as from the electronics industry.
