India Air Purifiers Market Revenue Set To Grow at 45% CAGR during 2013-18

Southern and northern regions of India are the highest demand generators for air purifiers

India is counted amongst the most polluted countries globally. This tag creates latent opportunity for the air purifiers market in the country. According to a recently published report by TechSci Research “India Air Purifiers Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2018”, India’s air purifiers market revenues will grow at the CAGR of around 45% during 2013-18.

The report reveals that air purifiers market in India is controlled by technologies such as HEPA filters, activated carbon filters and electrostatic precipitators, and Ions & Ozone generators, where HEPA filter-based air purifiers have highest demand. However, with the increasing air purifier’s awareness, new technologies such as Plasmacluster Ions, Nanoe G and Photocatalytic are expected to gain market share.

It adds, the southern region of India is contributing majorly to the country’s air purifiers market revenues on the back of growing urban population as 20% of India’s population resides in the southern region.

Also, cities of the southern region have exceeded CPCB’s (Central Population Control Board) ambient air quality standards for particulate matter. However, northern region is expected to gain significant market share with the growth in the number of hospitals and hotels in the region.

“Lucknow is the most polluted city in the world, having pollution index of 111.49 in 2013. It shows that country has very high level of pollution. On the contrary, penetration level of air purifiers is negligible. This indicates a latent opportunity to cater to the potential demand for air purifiers in the country,” said Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.

Mr. Chechi added that the growth in commercial and industrial sectors would further increase the demand of air purifiers in India during 2013-18. It has also been registered that expansion of health, hospitality, and banking sectors and special economic zones are increasing the demand for air purifiers in the country.
