Blue Star Announced its Plans of Entering into India Water Purifier Business
India: Blue Star Limited, an India-based
air conditioning and commercial refrigeration company, is about to start its
new line of water purifier systems in the country by the end of 2016. The
company will primarily focus upon residential water purifiers and will
gradually improve its range to commercial water purification systems as well.
Also, being India's largest AC&R service provider, company is prospecting
to offer differentiated service in this business too. Blue Star plans to come
up with an all-inclusive range of residential water purifiers towards the end of
2016. It has already identified O&M as its creative partner to assist it
with the positioning and communication. The company has plans to create
benchmark by offering world-class after-sales service to enhance customer
engagement. It is targeting to reach a market share of 15% in about 3 years
from the launch.

launch would strengthen the position of Bluestar in Indian as well as Global
Water Purifier Industry. This will enable the company to provide an exhaustive
product range for meeting all water purifying requirements of urbanising
population in the coming years. The company has a well-known brand name in the
country and hence entering into the new segment will be an easy move.

water purifiers in India is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 21% through
2020. In volume terms, the market is dominated by gravity based water
purifiers, while reverse osmosis (RO) purifiers segment is the largest revenue
contributor in the market. Moreover, as the quality of water in India continues
to deteriorate, it is anticipated that RO purifiers segment will emerge as the
fastest growing segment over the next five years.
