India cleaning robots market
is expected to register an exceptional CAGR during the forecast period, owing
to rising demand from the residential and commercial sectors, as well as rising
disposable income. Robots used for cleaning are autonomous machines with
intelligent software that allows for either manual or self-driving operation.
During the forecast period, the growing working women population in metro
cities is expected to aid the cleaning robots market in India.
The cleaning robot cleans
floors, windows, lawns, and other surfaces. It is used in household and
industrial applications for mopping, and other purposes. It reduces human
effort while saving time, money, and electricity. Cleaning robots can be used
by people with disabilities as an alternative to costly housekeeping services.
Robots have become more intelligent as technology has advanced, and they can
detect different amounts of dirt in different locations.
The cleaning robots market in
India can be divided into type, operation mode, application, product type, region
and competitive landscape. The market is divided into Personal Cleaning Robots
and Professional Cleaning Robots based on type, with the latter segment
expected to grow at the fastest rate due to its high quality, larger bin size,
ability to clean larger areas, etc. The market can be divided into floor-cleaning
robots, pool-cleaning robots, lawn-cleaning robots, window-cleaning robots, and
others depending on the product type. Because of the growing popularity of
floor cleaning robots in the residential segment, the floor cleaning robots

Rising Demand
from the Residential and Commercial Sectors
There has been
a rising demand for cleaning robots from both the residential and commercial
sectors in recent years. The reasons for this trend are multifaceted and
include factors such as increased focus on hygiene, the need for cost-effective
cleaning solutions, and the rising awareness of the benefits of automation in
cleaning.
AI improves
human-robot interaction, collaboration opportunities, and overall quality.
Co-bots, or robots that work alongside humans to perform testing and assembly,
are already in use in the industrial sector. AI advancements enable robots to
more closely mimic human behavior, which is why they were created in the first
place. Modern households are becoming more automated and intelligent. Home
automation makes life more convenient and gives people more free time. Domestic
robots are becoming a part of people's daily lives and homes, but the market is
still young and developing. In
the residential sector, cleaning robots are becoming increasingly popular among
homeowners, who are looking for efficient and effective cleaning solutions.
With the rise in dual-income households, many families find it challenging to
keep up with daily cleaning tasks. Cleaning robots offer a solution by taking
care of routine cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming and floor cleaning, freeing
up time and energy for other activities. In the commercial sector, cleaning robots are
being used extensively in industries such as hospitality, healthcare, and
retail. With the COVID-19 pandemic highlighting the importance of hygiene and
cleanliness, businesses are investing in cleaning robots to maintain high
standards of cleanliness and reduce the risk of infection. Additionally,
cleaning robots offer a cost-effective solution by reducing labor costs and
increasing efficiency.

Recent Development
To end manual scavenging in India, researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have created a robot called "HomoSEP," in 2022. Ten units deployed across Tamil Nadu, with researchers already in contact with sanitation workers to identified locations. Gujarat and Maharashtra locations are also being considered.
The first robotic drain cleaner has been acquired by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC). To clean any kind of sewer manhole, the civic body purchased Bandicoot, a robotic cleaning device. After courts and the Union government issued orders prohibiting manual scavenging, the civic body focused on bringing advanced robotic sewer cleaners.
