Michelin goes for Forward Integration!

United States: Global giant, Michelin has welcomed California based tyre distributor, East Bay Tire Co. in to its commercial service network called Michelin North America Inc.’s Commercial Service Network (MCSN).

Ralph Dimenna, the Chief Operation Officer of Michelin North America’s truck tyres division, expressed his confidence and trust in the quality of operations for the tyre distribution company while welcoming the distributor as a member of MCSN family, and also asserted that “the addition solidifies the presence of service network in California”

The East Bay Tire Co. has been operating in North California for around 70 years through eight commercial/retail locations. The dealership will be providing support to commercial customers with commercial and heavy truck, industrial, earthmover, agricultural, ATV, lawn and garden, golf cart, trailer and passenger/light truck tyres. Furthermore, the distributor will also offer Michelin retreads to its customers. As mentioned by Michelin, the distributor has formed a 20-year relationship with the tyre producer.

The recent report published by TechSci Research, “United States Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020” depicts that there were around 790 vehicles per 1,000 individuals in the United States, as of 2014. Additionally, the economy of the country is further grooming at a significant pace, with strengthening dollar and falling food and oil prices. Further, in the light of favorable government policies, the production and sales of automobiles is growing steadily, which is collectively resulting in growing tyre demand in the country.

As per TechSci Research, this move by tyre producer will help the company to improve the market presence in the country with increased brand visibility across all locations.
