Polyplastics to expand its engineering plastics compound manufacturing in Malaysia
Malaysia: Polyplastics, a global plastics
manufacturer based in Japan, has plans to increase its global presence in the engineering
plastics market by expanding the production capacity engineering plastics
compound plant in Malaysia. The plant would be operated by the company’s
wholly-owned subsidiary Polyplastics Asia Pacific (PAP), located in Kuala
Lumpur. The expansion is expected to complete by the end of 2016 and would
start its operation in June 2017. This expansion is expected to add 9,000 tons
per years of additional production capacity to the plant, which would increase the
existing production capacity of the plant to 35,000 tons annually after
completion of this expansion project. The new line of business set up by the company
in Malaysia would be engaged in the manufacturing of acetal copolymer (POM)
duracon and polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) durafide compounds. The plant already
has a manufacturing line for the production of POM, polybutylene terephthalate,
PPS and liquid crystal polymer.
