Continental starts production of OTR tyres in Romania

Germany based Continental AG’s subsidiary, Continental Commercial Specialty Tires, has initiated manufacturing of two all new radial OTR tyre lines at the Eurotire manufacturing plant situated in Drobeta, Romania, as reported by company’s executive.

As per the company’s spokeswoman, the new OTR radial tyre is to be developed under specified conditions, wherein, the tyre would be released by Continental CST (Commercial Specialty Tires), however, will be manufactured in association with Eurotire.

The new tyre has been integrated with an advance tread pattern design, suitable for varied environment conditions, ranging from soft-muddy soil to solid terrain plains.

The Eurotire plant offers a vast production capacity along with a state of art hi-tech manufacturing machines at its 2.47 million sq. ft. plant facility, as declared by the German tyre giant.

The company’s official also proclaimed that as Continental CST imparted its expertise knowledge in the advance development of Specialty Tyres, at the same time Eurotire provided its immense experience of manufacturing in the construction and mining segment.

Earlier in August 2015, the first tyre versions i.e. the ContiEarth EM-Master (E3/L3 and E4/L4) and the ContiEarth RDT-Master (E4) were introduced in the market.

Conti also added that these tyres were already being offered in the huge markets of Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa; and now would officially be launched for American market at the MINExpo 2016 which would held in September 2016.

TechSci Research believes that the recent step taken by Continental A.G. has not only defined its presence in Romania but also has given an access to Eurotire’s massive experience in the field of construction sector. However, Conti would also able to outline its dominance in the OTR tyre segment by the recent expansion of its product range in the indicated segment.

The recent report published by TechSci Research, “Romania Tyre Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020” depicts the growing potential of Romania’s automobile industry in the country, which subsequently is flourishing the nation’s tyre market. Furthermore, by adding OTR tyres in its product offering, Continental would able to give a tough competition to existing players in the country’s tyre industry.
