Goodyear awarded with Boeing production supply contract of 777X Aircraft

One of the leading global player of tyre industry, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, on 14 December 2015 announced that the company has been awarded by the Boeing production supply contract of 777X aircraft.

Akron based, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company would be providing nose and main landing gear tyres for the all-new Boeing 777X aircraft, which is scheduled for the delivery in 2020.

According to the official management of the Boeing Company, the new aircraft 777X would be the biggest and yet, the most efficient twin-engine jet introduced in the world until now. Moreover, with the ascribing success of the famous Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner, the company claims that the recently launched aircraft would have unmatched performance in all aspects as compared to other aircrafts.

The contract indicate that Goodyear is supposed to supply Flight Radial tyre for the Boeing 777X.

The Goodyear Flight Radial tyre is the most advanced aviation product lunched by the company in the Aviation sector. The radial tyre employs Goodyear’s Featherweight Alloy Core Bead Technology, which is the most recent technology in the company’s lightweight radial aircraft technology segment. In addition to the enhanced technology, the tyre has been upgraded with various other features such as strong & rigid tread belts with improved rubber quality that tend to offer dimensional stability to the aircraft, longer service life and increased cut resistance.

The Vice President of Goodyear’s Off-Highway Tyres Division, Pierre Jambon awaits for the highly anticipated Boeing 777X to fit in with Goodyear’s Flight Radial tire and is looking forward to strengthen the long-standing relationship professing that it is a very important step for both the companies. Moreover, he closed his speech with formalizing Goodyear’s further validation and commitment to supply the best premium products & services to the aviation industry in future as well.

The Boeing 777X program have already received orders and commitments for 306 airplanes, as of 1st December 2015.

As per TechSci research, this order procurement would significantly help the Goodyear in increasing its visibility in global aviation tyre industry in coming years.
