Facial Recognition and Temperature Detection
Read the highlights of DigiConnect’s session on Facial
Recognition and Temperature Detection.
It is time when the lockdown
rules are being relaxed; public spaces are starting to open up, and all this,
of course, with adequate public safety, hygiene and social distance norms.
Authorities and private
companies are discovering ground-breaking ways with the help of new
technologies to help to put things in place again, specifically focused on
businesses as well as to get the customer confidence back.
Facial recognition technology,
which was being used traditionally for blacklist applications such as criminal
identification, is now finding ways to be adopted in the whitelist applications
such as access control, monitoring the crowd, following the social and
government rules and so on. The objective and growing usage is for a safer and
reliable environment in BFSI, Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Government
and other sectors
DigiConnect Boardrooms
conducted an Executive Virtual Boardroom on the subject ‘Facial Recognition and
Temperature Detection’ on June 9,
2020.

Technology Co., Ltd., popularly known as HikVision, was the presenting partner.
HikVision a partially state-owned Chinese manufacturer and supplier of video
surveillance equipment, headquartered in Hangzhou, China. In June 2019,
HikVision was ranked 800th in the 2019 edition of Forbes Global 2000.

Director of HikVision, discussed the relevance of facial recognition and
thermal scanning. He mentioned that the increased body temperature is an
indication of a possible COVID-19 patient. The UAE government needed to re-open
the businesses with temperature screening solutions, across malls, restaurants,
airports and office areas, while making sure that citizens follow social
distancing measures.
To be a part of this
initiative, and to develop a healthy and safe urban environment, HikVision
offers a set of customized temperature screening solutions to various sectors
such as government, health, real estate, education, transportation, among
others.
These customized solutions
integrated with Artificial Intelligence are safe, fast, smart and offer various
advantages over traditional and handheld temperature measuring devices.
