Phreesia launches VoiceAI, an AI-driven phone system enabling 24/7 healthcare call management, reducing wait times and improving patient experience.

Wilmington, Delaware: Phreesia, a leading patient activation company, has unveiled Phreesia VoiceAI, an artificial intelligence-driven phone solution tailored for healthcare organizations to efficiently manage patient calls.

The system leverages natural language processing to accurately interpret patient requests and route them appropriately, eliminating the need for traditional phone trees. VoiceAI is capable of handling multiple calls simultaneously, reducing wait times, directing urgent requests to on-call physicians, and documenting routine inquiries for follow-up.

Designed to address common healthcare call types, including appointment scheduling, prescription refills, clinical questions, and medical records requests, VoiceAI operates 24/7 to ensure seamless patient engagement.

Phreesia CEO Chaim Indig described VoiceAI as "the next big milestone" for the company and "a logical extension" of their platform, applying AI technology to phone systems, which he called "one of the most resource-intensive parts of the practice."

The company highlighted that its platform facilitated approximately 170 million patient visits in 2024, covering roughly one in seven healthcare visits in the United States.
