Ola going to expand into two new service categories
India: Ola,
the renowned radio taxi brand of India, unveiled its plan to expand into two
more services after starting the Ola shuttles, three-wheeler service, pool in car
service, corporate cab offering, etc. The company has expanded its services
portfolio by adding outstation facility as well as rental facility.
As per the company officials, with outstation
facility, the customers would able to book the Ola cab service, two hours in
advance for traveling intercity, through an Ola app. Whereas, as per the rental
facility the customers would able to rent an Ola car on hourly basis instead of
the pickup and drop cab service.
It was identified that Ola is continuously
changing its strategy from specific focus on horizontal expansion model.
Moreover, the recent move taken by the radio taxi aggregator would assist the
company to reach its aim to reduce the car ownership. The step was taken by the
company is contrast to the move taken by rival, Uber, which is targeting to
expand its low cost service by the name UberGo across 26 cities in India. However,
Ola has been operating in over 100 cities of the country.
After witnessing the step taken by Uber,
which was surging the driver incentives as well as increasing customer
discounts in India. Ola is relying on its core advantage of local dynamic
knowledge, wherein, the company is planning solutions particularly for the Indian
market.
