Bostik Expands Production Capacity in Malaysia

Malaysia: Bostik, one of the business lines of Arkema, which deals in specialty adhesives business has expanded the production capacity of the cementitious products at its manufacturing facility located in Malaysia. The expanded facility would be involved in the manufacturing of cementitious construction products, floor levelling compounds, tile grouts, wall finishing products and ceramic tile adhesives. Cementitious products produced by the company at the Seremban facility are based on the Polymer Modified Binder (PMB) Technology, which is the most significant area of company’s innovation and R&D activities. In 2014, the company had also opened a manufacturing facility in the country in Johor Bahru.

TechSci Research depicts that expansion of the manufacturing capacities is expected to strengthen the position of Bostic and enhance its operations in the country. This would also help the company to cater to the growing demand for construction products in Central Malaysia, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and North Malaysia.

Additionally, rising expenditure on infrastructure projects by the government is further aiding the region’s construction chemicals market.
