Tata Motors launched its much awaited hatchback Segment Car, Tiago.
India: Tata Motors, launched its all-new
compact hatchback car, Tiago in India on Wednesday (6th April 2016).
Company launched, Tiago at an aggressive introductory price of around USD4,800
to USDS8,300 (ex-showroom New Delhi). With such aggressive pricing, the Tiago
undercuts both of its closest competitors, Maruti Celerio and Hyundai i10 in
terms of pricing. Tiago is the first all new car of Tata Motors since launch of
Tata Nano, priced around USD750 lower than Hyundai i10, around USD1,800 lower
than Hyundai Grand i10 and around USD1,200 lower than Maruti Suzuki
Celerio.
Tiago
will be the second car to be produced at the Tata Motor’s Sanand, Gujrat plant.
The Tiago is available in two new engine options, 1 litre Revetron diesel
engine and a 1.2-litre Revetron petrol engine that are claimed to return mileage
of 23.84 kmpl and 27.28 kmpl respectively. As claimed by the company it is the
most fuel efficient hatchback segment car in India.
According
to newly appointed MD of Tata Motor, Guenter Butschek”, “Tiago become a game
changing model for the company in future. The car has outstanding handling
experience, and it became a game changing product. Tata Motor’s placed, Tiago
in the hatchback segment but company is targeting high end customers”.
