Ascend begins manufacturing of Hexatran Trifunctional Amine in US
United States: The
specialty chemicals division of the US based premium provider of noble quality
chemicals, fibers and plastics namely, Ascend Performance Materials started the
production of a new trifunctional anime, Hexatran at its Decatur production
facility located in Alabama in United States. This is the company’s first full
scale production of Hexatran which was commercialized as finished products
after testing of over two years on amine. Hexatran has a very low odor and can
be used in various applications such as coatings, asphalt, adhesives, water
treatment, oil and gas, mining plastic additives and agrochem. Hexatran, being a better
performance provider in various traditional applications, could be used a
substitute or replacement to other amines such as TETA, TEPA, DETA, and IPDA in
order to improve the performance of epoxies.

According to TechSci Research report, “India Adhesives Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020”, adhesives market in India is
anticipated to reach 379 thousand metric tons by 2020. Adhesives are widely
used across numerous end user industries such as packaging, construction,
furniture, automotive, assembly operations, etc. Polyurethane adhesives accounted
for the largest market share in the country’s adhesives market, with these
adhesives being mainly used in automobile and construction sectors. High
thermoplastic and adhesion property, especially with metal substrates; good
electrical insulation; high elasticity; strong resistance against chemicals and
moisture make polyurethane adhesives extremely suitable for use in heavy
industries.
