Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to Invest USD 5922 Million in Expanding Petrochemical and Renewable Energy Capacity at Bina Refinery

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), one of India's leading state-owned oil and gas companies, plans to invest USD 5922 million in expanding its Bina refinery's petrochemical and renewable energy capacity project. To sustain growth and reduce carbon emissions, this venture would increase the production of petrochemical products and renewable energy sources.

With a refining capacity of 7.8 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA), the Bina refinery is BPCL's flagship facility. Currently, the refinery produces a variety of petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). With the planned investment, BPCL hopes to capitalise on rising petrochemical demand and expand its presence in the renewable energy sector.

The Bina refinery expansion project is expected to create significant job opportunities during the construction phase, boosting the local economy. Furthermore, increased production capacity would have a positive impact on downstream industries, stimulating regional development, and attracting additional investment in the area. The Bina refinery expansion project represents a significant milestone for BPCL, strengthening its presence in the petrochemical market and contributing to the nation's renewable energy goals.  BPCL's investment in the Bina refinery expansion project reflects the company's proactive approach to meeting the nation's changing energy demands. BPCL is not only ensuring its future competitiveness by embracing petrochemical advancements and renewable energy sources, but it is also contributing to India's journey towards energy self-sufficiency and a greener, more sustainable future.

Furthermore, BPCL intends to collaborate closely with local authorities, communities, and environmental agencies to ensure adherence to the highest environmental stewardship and safety standards. The company is still committed to striking a balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship.

With BPCL's ambitious investment in the expansion of petrochemical and renewable energy capacities at the Bina refinery, the company is poised to strengthen its position as a key player in India's energy sector while also playing an important role in the country's journey towards sustainable development.
