Yokohama expanded its commercial vehicle product line with Geolander

United States: The America headquartered marketing arm of Yokohama Rubber Company, Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC), introduced a new model for light trucks, Geolandar A/T G015 with improved traction in all-weather condition and extended durability.

As per the company officials, the new tire is going to replace the previous version, Geolandar AT-S. According to Bob Abram, the Product Planning Manager, dealers would find the selling price of this new tire similar to the older version of tire, the Geolandar AT-S. By keeping the price constant, the company wants to prove that, an improved grip in wet & winter weather along with an additional 10,000 miles’ mileage warranty can be offered to the consumer.

The new Geolandar A/T G015 is anticipated to deliver an excellent traction, both on road as well as off road. Also, this new addition would be available in entire North American market in the beginning of the next month, April, 2016.

The Geolandar A/T G015 will be available in 60 different sizes with a warranty of 60,000 miles treadwear for P/E metric sizes and a warranty of 50,000 miles for LT metric sizes. Moreover, the company, YTC, is also planning to further add 17 more sizes to the line by the end of 2016.

According to a recent report published by TechSci Research, “United States Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020” the country supports the second largest automotive industry across the globe, with a motorization rate of almost 790 vehicles per 1,000 individuals. The United States tire market hold a huge potential for light commercial vehicle (LCV) tires as well. A steady growth in the sales and production of commercial vehicles, expanding automotive fleet and favorable government policies are anticipated to propel the demand for LCV tires further in the country.

As per TechSci Research, by launching a new tire for commercial vehicles in America, Yokohama would able to enhance its share in the country’s tire industry in current year. Moreover, the newly introduced tire model is likely to be available in varied sizes, which would be advantageous for the company as well as the consumers of North America.
