General Electric Corporation (GE) inks a deal for the supply of gas turbines to 1,600MW power plant project in Indonesia

Indonesia: Indonesia’s PT Pertamina and Japan’s Marubeni Corp have entered into a contract with General Electric Company (GE) for the supply of power generation equipment that includes gas turbines for a power plant located in Java, Indonesia. This consortium will be Indonesia’s biggest gas and steam power plant with an installed capacity of 1,600 MW. South Korea’s Samsung C&T Corp will be providing the engineering, procurement and construction services for this project. However, financial details are not disclosed by the consortium.

For the purpose of meeting growing power demand, the power generation capacity of existing power plants will be increased and new capacity will be added that will supply electricity to the industries and residential consumers.
