Amazon to set up Second Largest delivery centre in Hyderabad, India
India: Seattle based e-commerce
giant Amazon, is planning to open a delivery centre in Hyderabad. The cost of
building the Centre would come from company’s proposed investment of USD 2
Million into India. The Centre would be built on 2.9 million square feet area
to accommodate 13,500 employees.
Currently, the company has Centre’s at
Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other major cities of India for meeting the
demand of Indian Customers. Hyderabad
has become attractive destination for USA firms to enter into Indian Market
According to Techsci Research, Amazon’ plan
to build a delivery Centre in Hyderabad indicates that India’s e-commerce
market has potential to grow in coming years. With building of the largest
fulfillment Centre in India after USA, the market share of the amazon is
expected to witness a hike.
According to a report published by TechSci Research “ Indian E-Commerce Market Forecast and Opportunities,
2020, India’s e-commerce market is projected to grow at a CAGR of more than 36%
during 2015-2020. E-services segment, which comprises online travel, online
payments, online classifieds, etc., is expected to continue its domination
through 2020. During 2015-20, the western region is expected to remain the
largest e-commerce market in the country.
