Samsung OLED Edge Display Panels on the way to China Market

electronics manufacturer announced its new smartphones Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7
Edge. With the advancement in the Display segment, Samsung is coming up with curved
Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AM-OLED) in its new product Galaxy
S7 Edge smartphone, as the edges fall from both right and left the side of the
smartphone display. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch display screen.
However, Samsung plans to provide the
Edge Display products to other smartphone manufacturers and made China market
its first choice. As per the sources, in the potential buyer list, the company
is considering Huawei and Xiaomi at the top among the rest smartphone
manufacturers
According to TechSci Research, Samsung
Display the Display manufacturing arm of Samsung, is a key OLED supplier to
China market, by bringing innovation in its display technology the company is
expected to gain the market share in the coming years.
As per the recent report published by TechSci Research “China OLED Market By Type (Displays and
Lighting), By Application (Smartphones, Tablets & Notebooks, Televisions
Commercial, Residential, Automotive, Industrial and Others), Competition
Forecast and Opportunities, 2011 – 2021”, the OLED market in China is projected
to grow at a CAGR over 38% during 2016 - 2021. OLED displays accounted for the
majority share in China’s OLED market, on account of their rising adoption in
smartphones, tablets, MP3/MP4 players, automotive applications and defense
sector. Light weight, better color performance, less power consumption, high
brightness, etc., are few of the advantages driving increase in penetration of
these OLED displays in China. In addition, rising investments in OLED research
and development, coupled with increasing focus of manufacturers to boost
production of various OLED display panels and lighting products is anticipated
to boost China OLED market over the next five years.
