Tyre brand- DMACK, to have a production facility at Carlisle

Kingdom: The
former manager of Pirelli and the Managing Director of DMACK Tyres, Mr. Dick
Cormack has unveiled his plans to start a company owned production facility in
Carlisle after raising the funds from potential investors including Chinese
Banks, initially with a workforce of 70 to 100 workers. Further, in order to
reach an annual production capacity of 2 million tyre an investment of
USD289.71 million would be done to establish this facility and would be
employing a workforce of 500 people.
DMACK Tyres has been into
existence since 2006 and presently the products of the company are designed in
Carlisle and manufactured in China. However, with the new production facility,
the testing and development of new products is planned to be shifted to Malcolm
Wilson’s M-Sport at Cockermouth, which according to Mr. Cormack has skilled
workforce of tyre industry.
The production facility is
planned to produce motorsport tyres for exports and ultra-high-performance car
tyres for UK and European markets. The site will also have R&D facility for
the designing of motorsport and fuel-efficient tyres for hybrid motoring.
The recent report published
by TechSci Research, “United
Kingdom Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020”, depicts that UK tyre
market is replacement driven due to large fleet size. Further, leading global
tyre companies operating in UK are Michelin, Pirelli, Cooper tyre, Goodyear-Dunlop,
Bridgestone, Continental, Kumho, and Yokohama.
As per TechSci Research, this
move by DMACK will enhance the profitability of the company and will also help
the company to sustain competition from tyre giants that are already being
operating in the country.
