Heidenau to expand its scooter tyre range

Germany: By declaring new sizes for its existing tyre lines, the cross-ply motorcycle tyre company Reifenwerk Heidenau announced that it is going to launch a brand new scooter tyre, K80 SR.

The tyre is expected to be available in market from March 2016 in the varied tubeless sizes of 3.50-10 59P, 90/90-10 50M, 100/90-10 61M, 100/90-12 64M, 120/70-12 58S, 130/70-12 62P and 120/80-12 65M, along with a summer tyre, planned to be launched in further more size such as 90/90-12.

As per the German tyre manufacturer, the newly launched scoter tyre, K80 SR is a sporty all-rounder tyre for the two-wheelers. Also, the company claims that the designing of the tread grooves on the tyre and its advance casing would help the K80 SR to deliver an excellent straight line performance, along with precision control.

According to company official, a specifically assorted compound was added in the manufacturing of the tyre, which is solely responsible for providing superb grip and an eminent braking feature on particularly dry & wet road surfaces. Another official stated that the different qualities offered by K80 SR are low rolling resistance, high mileage and an outstanding balance between riding comfort & precision handling.

The company also added two new K60 M+S winter tyre sizes, 90/90-18 51S TT and 110/80-18 58S TT and a pair of new K65 touring tyre dimensions, 4.00-18 64H TL and 3.25-19 54H TL to its existing motorcycle tyre portfolio.

Furthermore, few new arrivals to be launched, includes 80/90-17 50S TL size for the K80 on-road performance range, a new 4.00-18 64H TT size for the K34 classic tyre range and a new 150/60-17 66H size in the K66 four-season line.

TechSci Research considers that by adding a new product to its portfolio, Heidenau has taken a viable step to expand its presence in the country. Considering the expanding size of the two-wheeler market in Germany, the company took an intuitive step in the overall tyre industry of the country.
