United Kingdom: In a strategic move to upscale its sales network, the Goodyear tyre has rolled out its next generation online platform in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The new website (www.goodyear.co.uk) is designed in manner to provide relevant information to the customers in addition to the tyre fitment support post purchase.

The website also provides the customers with a recommended sell out price for its tyres, which indicates the intension of Goodyear tyre to strengthen its online retail activity. The website is based on the result of a research conducted by the company to analyse the online sales pattern. As per the company, around 63% of the customers purchasing tyres in Europe are well informed about the product. Out of these, more than 90% uses internet to get information about the tyres.

According to Nieves Fuentes, director digital marketing EMEA, internet serves as one of the major source of information for the consumers. While purchasing tyres, the consumers often research the information provided by the tyre manufacturers in addition to recommendations from other consumers available in various websites.

TechSci Research believes that with the launch of its next generation tyre portal, the company is planning to intensify its online sales on the back of increasing internet penetration in entire Europe.
