Wipro undergoes a major organizational
restructuring and appointed Abid Ali Neemuchwala its new CEO
India: India third largest software
exporter Wipro announced the new appointment of its Chief Executive officer
Abid Ali Neemuchwala. He replaced T.K. Kurien who completes five years with the
company is being promoted to Executive Vice Chairman. Both the appointments
will be effective from February 1st.
Mr. Kuren will remain a Member of the Board until March 31,
2017. He will be reporting to Azim Premji, Wipro's chairman.
Mr. Neemuchwala joined Wipro as Group President and Chief
Operating Officer in April last year, before that he worked with the largest
software services firm Tata Consultancy for 23 years.
In the capacity of CEO, the company is expected to leverage
his deep relationships with clients and to devise the strategic roadmap of new
technologies for Wipro.
According to Mr. Kurien, Mr. Neemuchwala possesses the
innate quality to bring people together, business vision and deep understanding
of technology; he is the right leader to lead the company in its next growth
phase.
Further, Mr. Neemuchwala also said that the company is well
positioned to seize the market opportunities and committed to taking the
company to the greater heights.
