Hankook expands Original Fitment Supply to Mercedes for Commercial Vehicles

 Hankook Tire Europe G.m.b.H., subsidiary of Hankook Tires South Korea, is going to further expand its original equipment (OE) portfolio in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) segment as per the agreement with Daimler A.G. for Mercedes-Benz Actros, Antos, Arocs, Econic and Atego truck ranges.

The updated tyre selection would include the e-cube MAX AL10+ and DL10+, SmartFlex AH31 and DH31, which are considered company’s highly reputed flagship products available all over Europe.

Earlier, in 2014, Mercedes-Benz selected Hankook Tyres as an OE supplier for its MCV truck - Atego and for its HCV truck - Actros. The Germany based tyre company also announced that it would provide multiple varieties for the best-selling TBR tyre size in Europe i.e. 22.5 inch. By this expansion, Hankook aspires to further bolster its brand name in a highly competitive tyre market. 

The e-cube MAX AL10+ (all position long haul) utilizes linear grooves with waved walls to prevent uneven wear, enhance durability and provide better long-term fuel efficiency with the improved tread compound and high load index of the AL10+, which would simultaneously increase the load capacity.

 

The (drive axle long haul) e-cube MAX DL10+ offers brilliant traction while driving due to its three-dimensional kerfs along with the superior mileage performance with extra-wide tread blocks and deep grooves. The block supporter employed in the DL10+ also provides a boosted longevity and low rolling resistance. Both of these enhanced tread patterns tyres, e-cube MAX AL10+ and the e-cube MAX DL10+ would be supplied in three different sizes: 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/60R22.5. 

The hybrid line SmartFlex AH31 is an all-weather TBR tyre for multiple road conditions, providing even wear and high mileage performance with significantly lower rolling resistance. 

The revolutionary drive axle tyre SmartFlex DH31 is perfectly matched for diverse applications with its cutting-edge technology which provides excellent traction in various operating conditions such as regional, long-haul and winter conditions due to the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) which offers high mileage durability. Both the SmartFlex AH31 and SmartFlex DH31 would be available in three sizes: 315/70R22.5, 315/80R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 specifically for the new Actros. 

As per TechSci Research, this expansion in Hankook OEM tyre offering would boost its penetration in OEM.
