IPG Automotive Expands Southeast Asia Network

IPG Automotive has strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia through a new partnership with Automated Vehicle Test Solution (AVeTS). Under the deal, AVeTS will distribute IPG’s CarMaker and other simulation platforms across ASEAN markets, while also providing training, consulting, and technical support.

The collaboration, active since June 2025, is designed to accelerate digital testing adoption in one of the world’s most dynamic automotive hubs. The ASEAN region has been witnessing a rapid shift in mobility, with growing demand for advanced driver assistance systems, autonomous driving features, and electrified powertrains. By leveraging simulation technologies, manufacturers and suppliers can validate these innovations more efficiently while reducing the need for extensive physical testing.

IPG notes that simulation will be vital for making vehicle development safer, faster, and more cost-efficient. Tools such as CarMaker enable engineers to create highly detailed virtual test environments where critical systems can be evaluated under a wide range of driving conditions. This approach not only helps shorten development timelines but also supports compliance with evolving safety and regulatory standards. As local supply chains modernize, virtual testing is also becoming essential for startups and smaller firms seeking to compete alongside global players.

For AVeTS, the partnership represents an opportunity to strengthen the local ecosystem of digital engineering. Founder Dr. Vimal Rau emphasized the importance of digital solutions and software-based testing to meet the region’s evolving R&D requirements. With its deep understanding of local market dynamics, AVeTS is well positioned to provide the practical expertise and guidance needed to integrate simulation into day-to-day development workflows.

The agreement also underscores the growing role of Southeast Asia in the global automotive industry. Rising vehicle production, increasing investment in smart mobility infrastructure, and the emergence of technology-driven startups are creating demand for advanced development tools. Having a local partner ensures that OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and research institutions across the region can access IPG’s platforms more easily, along with tailored support for implementation and training.

This expansion forms part of IPG Automotive’s wider international strategy. In recent years, the company has steadily built its presence across Asia, Europe, and North America, combining direct offices with strong regional partnerships. The AVeTS collaboration is another step toward delivering localized expertise, allowing customers in Southeast Asia to adopt advanced simulation methods with greater confidence and efficiency.

By deepening its regional footprint, IPG Automotive aims to enable faster innovation, safer mobility, and more efficient development for the automotive industry across Southeast Asia, while also positioning itself as a long-term partner for the region’s growing technology ecosystem.
