New
Delhi, August 5 – Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom and digital
services providers, has taken a major step toward strengthening its position in
the enterprise technology space with the launch of Xtelify, its new digital
services arm focused on cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
The
newly launched Airtel Cloud platform, part of the Xtelify suite, is designed to
offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
solutions. It aims to support businesses and telecom operators in accelerating
their digital transformation journeys through secure cloud migration,
scalability, and AI-driven automation tools.
As
part of its go-to-market strategy, Airtel has entered into strategic
partnerships with regional telecom leaders including Singtel (Singapore), Globe
Telecom (Philippines), and Airtel Africa. These collaborations will support the
platform’s deployment across diverse geographies and enable a host of
enterprise-grade applications—ranging from AI-based workforce optimization to
real-time customer engagement and omni-channel service capabilities.
“Xtelify’s
mission is to accelerate digital transformation across industries by providing
secure, intelligent, and scalable cloud infrastructure,” Airtel said in a
company statement. The AI offerings integrated into the platform are expected
to help enterprises reduce operating costs, improve customer experience, and
enhance operational agility.
The
launch marks a significant expansion of Airtel’s technology ecosystem and
builds upon recent AI and digital partnerships. Notably, in July, Airtel
partnered with AI-powered search platform Perplexity, offering a 12-month free
subscription to its 360 million users in India—a move seen as part of its
broader plan to integrate AI across consumer and enterprise services.
While
the space is currently dominated by global tech giants like Amazon Web
Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, Airtel’s entry reflects growing
interest from domestic players to capture a share of the rising demand for
local cloud infrastructure and services.
Industry
experts believe Airtel’s integrated offering of cloud and AI positions it well
to become a regional leader in enterprise digital services. With expanding
partnerships across Asia and Africa, and a focus on intelligent automation,
Airtel is transitioning from a traditional telecom operator to a holistic
digital infrastructure provider.
The
move is expected to strengthen Airtel’s diversification strategy while
supporting the digital acceleration of enterprises across emerging markets.
The move is expected
to strengthen Airtel’s diversification strategy while supporting the digital
acceleration of enterprises across emerging markets. By combining cloud
computing, AI capabilities, and strategic partnerships, Airtel aims to build a
robust regional presence and compete effectively with global cloud giants. This
also aligns with India’s broader vision of boosting indigenous digital
infrastructure, data sovereignty, and technological self-reliance. As
enterprise IT environments become more complex and data-intensive, Airtel’s
end-to-end offering could emerge as a key enabler for scalable, secure, and
AI-enhanced operations—positioning it as a pivotal player in the future of
cloud-based enterprise ecosystems.
