SastaSundar.com, a digital healthcare company, has launched a range of organic green tea products in India

India: To leverage the growing organic and natural beverages market in India, SastaSundar.com, a digital healthcare company has introduced a range of organic green tree products in India. The organic green tea will be offered in several variants including tulsi, honey and lemongrass. These beverages will be procured from Darjeeling based Arya Tea Company, which owns an estate of around 125 hectares and manufactures an estimated amount of 60,000 kg tea, annually. The company SastaSundar.com has brought home USD0.043 million of revenue in March 2016 from its tea business alone and aims to reach to USD0.11 million this year.

The laboratory and blending unit of the company located at Baruipur is witnessing the fabrication of proportionate and well-tested tea. The blending capacity of the unit is as huge as 1000 kgs a day, but in order to meet the current demand, the company is running on a scale of 1000-2000 kgs a month. The company will also put forth its products offline through its 172 Healthbuddy centres across the state as well as online in the country. The company started with a single variety of green tea in 2015, but now now offers a wide range of 41 varieties which comprises organic, black and flavored tea. The companies special focus is on the quality of green tea variants which leads to the production of chemical free delights. The company also have specific tea for people who are seeking specific health benefits such as healthier skin, weight loss, reducing blood sugar levels.

According to TechSci Research, health benefits associated with organic beverages due to less use of fertilizers for cultivation of raw materials required for production of organic beverages such as organic tea, juices, dairy alternatives, etc., are expected to push the sales of organic beverages in the country.
