Synaptics to provide USB Fingerprint Scanner for Computers

United States: Synaptic, a United States based biometric device manufacturer has introduced an ultra-small USB module for PC and laptop users. The devices would help in enabling Natural ID secure fingerprint authentication on the computer. The company has named the device “Turnkey USB Fingerprint Solution”.

With an increase in the technology advancement, the company is focusing towards making biometric technology more accessible to the users and computer manufacturers. Further, the company launched a fingerprint sensor, which can be deployed with smartphone button.

The company launched a fingerprint USB module which would provide better security features to any computer including desktop or laptop. The module can be attached to any USB port enabled computer. The USB fingerprint module is expected to reach the market by 2017.

Synaptics USB fingerprint scanner allows computer owners to unlock their device in a new way which provides advance device protection to the users, said, Godfrey Cheng, Vice President of marketing.

TechSci Research analyses that with the increasing concern of data security by the device users, the new product launched by the company would expect to enhance its revenue share in the market.
