Middle East Air Conditioner Manufacturer, Zamil wins USD92.8 Million Contract
Saudi Arabia: One of the leading Air conditioner
manufacture in Middle East, Zamil, has got their largest-ever contract for
supply of air conditioners to Saudi Arabia. The contract was awarded to the
company by Al Fouzan Trading and General Construction Company.
Zamil
Air conditioners, a wholly own subsidiary of Zamil Industrial Investment
Company, has been providing Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
and solutions throughout the middle east for the last 40 years.
Zamil
Air Conditioners is the first Middle East Company to receive Air-Conditioning,
Heating and Refrigeration Institute, US and Eurovent certification for majority
of their product. Dar Al Hijrah project, which is spread over an area of 1.6
million square meter, is being developed by Saudi Real Estate Development
Company. The supply of water-cooled chillers will be used in Phase one of the
Dar Al Hijrah Project.
According
to Techsci Research, the order that the company has received will help them to
enhance their presence in Saudi Arabia. GCC countries lacks manufacturing
facility of the leading players of air conditioners so this project will help Zamil
to focus on these countries by increasing production capacity which are
operating in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Daikin is a leading supplier of
centralised air conditioners such as chillers, through this project, Zamil may
be able to regain its leading position in the air conditioners market.
According
to a recent report published by Techsci
Research, “Saudi
Arabia Air Conditioners Market By Product Type (Split,
Window, VRF, Chillers and Others), Competition Forecast and Opportunities, 2011
– 2021”, air
conditioners market size in Saudi Arabia is anticipated to surpass US$ 3
billion by 2021. Central and West regions of Saudi Arabia are the highest
demand generators for air conditioners in the country, and their dominance is
expected to continue during 2016 - 2021. Segment-wise, split air conditioners
dominate the market, as they can be easily installed in multi-storey buildings,
occupy less space and are cost-efficient. However, the market for chillers in
Saudi Arabia is expected to outpace the rest of the air conditioner segments in
the coming years. In 2015, LG Shaker grabbed the largest market share in Saudi
Arabia’s air conditioners market, followed by Zamil, Gree, Samsung Electronics
and Daikin Air Conditioning Saudi Arabia.
